Sing Your Heart Out

I am the furthest girl to the left next to the piano.
Thanks for the photo, Paul! :)
This past Sunday I had the honor of singing with the Perth Young Women's Chorale in our winter concert. It was great being able to perform with a group again. Although, it was somewhat bittersweet since I was unable to have any family there to listen. But then again, I was lucky enough to have one awesome supporter at the concert - thanks, Paul! :) The concert consisted of primarily American music with some bits and pieces from other parts of the world. I was kind of hoping to get away from the same old American choral pieces since I am in Australia, but it was kind of fun helping with more American pronunciation of words and such. During rehearsals the girls and I had many laughs about the differences in the way we say words. We sang everything from a West Side Story medley to pieces by Gershwin to a Moses Hogan spiritual to some more classical pieces including Ave Maria. The concert was recorded, so I hope to have some sound clips to post in the near future. I had a blast singing with the girls and I was even fortunate enough to be asked to sing a few solos in the concert. I'm looking forward to another great few months of singing with these girls!

It's amazing how thoughtful and selfless some people are. I am so lucky to have a great church family and within that family, some really great friends. On Friday I was given a car to use while I'm in Oz. What's even more amazing is that this couple asked for no payment. I was literally given a car for free. How amazing is God for putting such spectacular people in my life!!! :)

Not much else has been happening in my exciting Aussie life, but I'm certainly quite content with where my life is right now. I'm loving Australia more and more everyday and I can't wait to see what else God has in store for me while I'm here! Oh and if any of you were curious, I do have a new special someone in my life and he's pretty awesome. :) Love to you all from my little corner of the world!
